With the 4 years of SolidWorks experience, I have become extremely familiar with the majority of the tools available in the suite, from surfaces, to structural members, to 3D sketches. They have become second nature to use and constrain.

One of the things that I am the most proud of in the design work that I do is the consideration that is baked into every component from the start to make sure that the part that I design is not only manufacturable but makable within the budget and tolerance constraints that are called for by the application.

Suspension kinematics design is something that I have spent a lot of time working on, I have gone from clean sheet to full working suspension twice with no surprises or major issues. Each time iterating to better understand principles that I had learned during extensive research

While I have only done one complete design and manufacture from scratch, I have also been a very involved consultant in two more, and been called for a second opinion on another, due to concerns with legality, torsional rigidity, member deflection, manufacturability, or determining overall targets, I feel confident in all these subjects.

Over the last 4 years I have learned to TIG weld from scratch, and have since started teaching informal classes within Hornet Racing, turning out at least 3 semi proficient welders. I have also done essentially all of the welding of steel components for the last 4 years of cars, including four thin wall chromoly chassis, and five full sets of control arms with no failures to speak of.
